Active Tameside

During the first week of the Easter holidays, we were very lucky to be able to take part in a holiday club in conjunction with Tameside Active and Fuel4Fun.

Fuel4Fun is a programme for engaging and delivering interventions to young people. The fund targets children eligible for free school meals and/or pupil premium, looking to engage them in holiday activities whilst providing them with a free meal each day too.

During the 4 days, the children took part in various sports and food activities. Lots of fun was had by all involved.

Each child was given an activity bag to take home, which included, a football, beanbag, skipping ropes and frisbee, along with a food hamper, which included ingredients to cook 4 meals. Below are some of the meals made from the food hampers – sausage and bean bake and beef enchilada, with garlic and herb and cheese sat on a bed of seasonal veg.

We are hoping to run another club during the summer holidays and we will be in touch about this when we have more information.
